What is in Your Hand?

I don’t know about you, but when I read the miracles performed in the Bible, I wonder why we aren’t experiencing them to the same extent today. I think we can agree that we all need some form of Godly intervention in one or more areas of our lives. So we pray and sit on our hands waiting for God to show up miraculously to do His thing. Well, let me just tell you that this is the wrong posture. In fact, it is the release of the very thing that is in our hands that unleashes the supernatural.

Let me explain. In the Gospel of John, we read about a young boy who went to watch Jesus preach and perform miracles. Little did he know that he himself would play an integral role in one of the most talked about miracles that Jesus performed – The Feeding of the Five Thousand. All this little boy had with him was his lunch. He didn’t have a lot to offer up to Jesus. He certainly didn’t have enough to feed all those people, but he decided to give Jesus everything he had in his hands.

“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” – John 6:9-12

This little boy didn’t have much, but he offered what he had in his hands to be multiplied by God for a supernatural display. Make no mistake, God doesn’t need anything of ours to move, but He does want our obedience and our participation. God will do His part, but we must do ours.

So ladies, are you waiting for God to move miraculously in your lives? If yes, I challenge you today with these questions. What step of faith is God asking you to take? What role does He require for you to play in seeing your miracle through? What can you offer? What is in your hand?
